Georgia Football Weekend 2020 – Week 4
We have made it to week 4 in the craziest College Football season ever. Who knows what will happen week to week? Will the game be played at all? Or will they run with a handful of players and try to make the best of it? Virginia Tech defeated NC State last week down 20 players and 4 coaches due to Covid-19. Texas State played a game a few weeks ago with no Tight Ends. Needless to say, this will be a wild and crazy ride that we are on for the rest of the way.
The Panthers of Georgia State return to the field after last week’s game against Charlotte was canceled. They will face the Pirates of East Carolina this week at home in Atlanta. Both teams come in 0-1 and both have had games canceled in the early weeks of the season. The Pirates did play last week and got handled by UCF 51-28. Georgia State looks to bounce back after their narrow loss 2 weeks ago against University of Louisiana. They hope to repeat their 400 yards of total offense led by Quarterback Cornelious Brown who threw the ball and ran it well helping the Panthers put up 31 points. The defense will look to repeat their 1st half from the previous game and try to sustain for the entire contest. The game is seen as a pick’em, with Georgia State +1.5 at home.
Prediction: Georgia State 28 East Carolina 24

Georgia Southern was the 2nd school from the peach state to get edged out late by #19 ranked University of Louisiana. This week they take on the Warhawks of UofL-Monroe. The Warhawks are 0-3 and are only averaging 10 points per game. They have also given up at least 30 points in each of those 3 losses. Georgia Southern put up good numbers against a better football team last week. Expect Senior QB Shai Werts to be a threat on the ground and in the passing game.
Prediction: Georgia Southern 30 UofL-Monroe 7

After successful SEC opener last week against Arkansas the competition steps up this week as they host #7 Auburn at Sanford Stadium. The Tigers come into Athens after also having a good first game against Kentucky. Auburn will be led by Sophomore QB Bo Nix who threw 3 touchdown passes last week. The Tigers will be looking for revenge after losing to the Dawgs 21-14 last season and have not beaten Georgia since 2017. Georgia still in search of a permanent Quarterback this season still have a strong run game and tough defense. The 2nd school from Alabama may be a little overrated this season and Nix tends to throw a few balls that he should not.
Prediction: Georgia 30 Auburn 17
