Georgia Football Weekend 2020 – Week 3

This football is in full swing down south as the SEC begins its fall schedule. Playing within the conference allows little room for
error as every week will be a major challenge. With Dawgs, Yellowjackets, Panthers and Eagles all in play this promises to be a busy and action-packed weekend.

Georgia Tech vs Syracuse

This week Coach Collins takes his team on the road again to face the Orangemen of Syracuse. This will be the 2nd ACC game of the season for the young Jackets. Tech will be looking to bounce back after a loss at home to UCF last week. The game ended 49-21 but felt a lot closer. The team faces a struggling Syracuse team that is 0-2 and is only averaging 8 points per game. That being said the game is on the road and Cuse will put up a fight as they are trying to salvage this season. I do expect the freshman Jeff Collins to continue to mature and grow.
Prediction: Georgia Tech 24 Syracuse 13

Georgia Southern vs #19 University of Louisiana

The Eagles of Georgia Southern return to action after last week’s game against FAU was postponed. This week they head to Louisiana to take on the Ragin Cajuns who squeaked by Georgia State last week. Still ranked #19 in the country, UofL is hoping to repeat as conference champion. Georgia Southern will put a good fight but it will be hard on the road and the Cajuns will be ready after surviving a scare just last week.L
Prediction: U of L 30 Georgia Southern 17

#4 Georgia vs Arkansas

The SEC gets the ball rolling on their season this week. Kirby Smart leads the Bulldogs into another campaign with high expectations. Although a lot of pundits have Florida winning the SEC East, Georgia still feels like they have a good shot at taking the crown for the 4th season in a row. The Dawgs head to Fayetteville, AR to face the Arkansas Razorbacks. Georgia has a major question at the quarterback spot. With Jake Fromm going to the NFL and James Newman opting out for the season will leave a big hole at that position. Right now, the job is between Freshman D’Wan Mathis of Oak Park and USC transfer JT Daniels. Word is that Mathis is the leading candidate, but Coach Smart has not officially named a starter. Both young men should see some time against the Razorbacks.
