Georgia Football Weekend 2019 – Week 7

The football season in on full tilt and the 2 flagship programs are heading into very different directions. Georgia Tech will have a long road thru the ACC as they will try to figure out their new future. Coach Collins will have to come up with a way to retool this roster for his system fast. Meanwhile in Athens, Kirby Smart has the Bulldogs back in the hunt for a playoff appearance.

#3 Georgia vs South Carolina

The Bulldogs welcome the Gamecocks of South Carolina to Athens this weekend. South Carolina is lead by Will Muschamp a former Georgia player whom Kirby Smart is very familiar with. They both are former Bulldog players, they coached together at Valdosta State in 2000. Both are now putting their imprints on their respective programs.

South Carolina has had a disappointing season so far, starting out 2-3. They picked up their first conference win last week by knocking off Kentucky. Georgia is coming off a strong showing against Tennessee last week.

Georgia is 21.5 point favorites in this game. The scoring difference for these 2 teams should land in that area. D’Andre Swift and the rest of the Bulldogs are too talented and too deep for South Carolina.
Prediction: Georgia 37 South Carolina 14

Georgia Tech vs Duke

This week the Yellowjackets hit the road as they roll into Durham to take on the Blue Devils of Duke. Coach Collins team will be looking for their first win in conference play. Last week Tech suffered a 38-22 loss to North Carolina. Duke is coming off a heartbreaking loss to Pitt 33-30 last week.

Maybe Coach Collins and the boys can pull out a surprise the weekend but its doubtful. Tech is only averaging 15 points per game. They are allowing 430 years of offense per game while only producing 295 themselves. Duke is putting up 33 points per game and before last week’s heartbreaker the team put up 40 points per game in their previous 3 contest.
Prediction: Duke 35 Georgia Tech 10
