Georgia Football Weekend 2022 – Week 5
Last week we went 3-0 on our predictions but that Georgia game was a lot closer than we thought. College football is a wacky place, and you never know how the ball will bounce with these kids. This week we have a full Saturday of games as the teams are digging deep into conference play and trying to see how the beginning of the 2nd month of the season will play out.
This week Georgia State goes on the road to play against the Army Cadets. Georgia State has struggled this season and are better than their 0-4 record. The question is can Georgia State limit their mistakes and play a complete game. Mistakes have killed the Panthers this year. Army is 1-3 and their win is against Villanova which is not a juggernaut of college football. This game could be toss up, the edge goes to West Point who will be at home.
Prediction: Army 24 Georgia State 21

Georgia Southern has matched last year’s win total from last season already. The 3-1 Eagles under Clay Helton appear to be turning it around. This week the challenge will be tougher as they start off in Sun Belt play against Coastal Carolina. The Chanticleers are off to a 4-0 start and look to be a team that will challenge App State for the conference title. Both squads are scoring just under 40 points a game and allowing around 26 points per contest. Coastal’s Grayson McCall is a solid signal caller who has thrown 11 touchdowns in the first four games against just 1 interception.
Prediction: Coastal Carolina 35 Georgia Southern 27

The Georgia Bulldogs looked a little sluggish last week against Kent State but still managed to win in a solid contest. This week they hit the road still as the #1 team in country. Waiting on them will be the Missouri Tigers who lost a heartbreaker to Auburn in OT last week. The Tigers are 2-2 and are averaging 28 points per game and giving up 24 on defense. Unfortunately for them they will get a Bulldogs team that has been fully awaken and heard all week from Coach Smart about how they need to be ready to play.
Prediction: Georgia 40 Missouri 7

At lot has changed down on The Flats since the last game. Georgia Tech let go of Head Coach Geoff Collins and Atheltic Director Todd Stansbury as they felt it was time for a change. Collins in his first three full seasons at the school failed to win more than 3 games in a season and this one looked to be going in the same direction. Brent Key takes over on an interim basis for the YellowJackets. Don’t expect a big rally or a run this team will probably still struggle especially this week.
Prediction: Pitt 34 Georgia Tech 14
