Georgia Football Weekend 2022 – Week 4

Its week 4 and the college football season is starting to take shape. Some teams are about to dip into their conference schedules and others are playing some of their last out of conference games for a while. Now these rankings will start to make a little bit of sense and we will see who is who?

So, this might be time to get a little worried about Georgia State. Now I still stand by them being the best college football team in Atlanta but at 0-4 its going to be hard to maintain that argument. That being said, if they played Georgia Tech I think they could prove my point. Unfortunately, the Panthers too hard loss to Coastal Carolina 41-24. This was another home game for Georgia State and they couldn’t get it done. This time it was even worse because this was a Sun Belt Conference loss. Hopefully they can bounce back and make something of this season.

#1 Georgia vs Kent State

Georgia gets a little breather this week after dominating South Carolina last week. This week they will take on an opponent from the MAC in Kent State. The Golden Flashes are coming off their first win of the season by thrashing Long Island University (LIU) 63-10. None of that means much since LIU is an FCS team that just picked up football in 2018. Georgia has only allowed 10 points all season, that includes the 3 points they held #15 Oregon to. The line has Georgia as a 45 point favorite, that seems about right.
Prediction: Georgia 47 Kent State 0

Georgia Tech vs UCF

Georgia Tech heads out this week to FBC Mortgage Stadium to face the Knights of UCF. Tech suffered a beatdown last week at the hands of Ole Miss. UCF spent last weekend with strong 40-14 win over FAU. The Knights are averaging 36 points a game while the Yellow Jackets are giving up 33 points a game this season. UCF is led by Quarterback John Rhys Plumlee who has thrown for 5 touchdowns this season and also rushed for 3 more touchdowns and is their leading rusher with 304 yards. UCF is favored by 21 points and that seems about right.
Prediction: UCF 37 Georgia Tech 13

Georgia Southern vs Ball State

Georgia Southern welcomes the Cardinals of Ball State down to Statesboro. After a touch loss to UAB, the Eagles look to get back on track. Ball State on the other hand got their 1st win of the season last week against Murray State. The Eagles are favored to win this game, coming in averaging 41 points a game this year. The downside they are giving up 28 points per contest. That all being said they appear to be in better shape than Ball State and they are playing at home.
Prediction: Georgia Southern 30 Ball State 17
