Georgia Football Weekend 2022 – Week 3

We are in week 3 and some teams aren’t who we thought they were. The Sun Belt Conference is making the world take notice and they appear to not be afraid of any Power 5 opponent. Georgia Southern even got a famous alum fired from their Big Ten program. This week should be full of action. Last week KLS picks were 2-2 which isn’t bad when one of the losses was a Georgia Southern upset win.

Georgia goes on the road this week to take on the Gamecocks of South Carolina. Georgia had an easy week last week against Samford, while South Carolina faced a tough SEC opponent in Arkansas. The Gamecocks had some good moments but ultimately the Razorbacks were too much. South Carolina maybe better than they were last year but the jury is still out. They maybe expecting a little too much of transfer Quarterback Spencer Rattler who came over after losing his job to Caleb Williams. Georgia showed against Oregon that they are picking up where they left off and are still monsters up front. Rattler probably wouldn’t be enough with the Oklahoma roster so he definitely won’t be enough with the Gamecock roster.

Prediction: Georgia 37 South Carolina 7

Georgia Tech welcomes the Ole Miss Rebels to Bobby Dodd Stadium today. Lane Kiffin has his team sitting at #20 in the country coming off last season’s ten-win 2021 season. Both teams are coming off victories against lessor competition last week. Now Ole Miss is favored and should win but by how much. Is Georgia Tech’s defense is solid up front as it looked against Clemson before the game got out of hand or is Clemson just really that bad on offense.

Prediction: Ole Miss 27 Georgia Tech 14

Georgia Southern takes a visit down to UAB to face the Blazers. Southern is riding high after knocking off Nebraska on the road. UAB lost a 21-14 game to Liberty last week. UAB is favored by 12 points at home. This maybe a little much and UAB might be riding off last year’s result which is always a mistake in college football. Clay Helton may have something going down in Statesboro.

Georgia State will take on UNC-Charlotte this evening at Center Parc Stadium. After 2 straight weeks with good showings against the Power 5 they get Conference USA opponent Charlotte. Georgia State come close to knocking off Carolina last week but came up short, this week will be different. They will have a much-deserved win as they get ready to go into a competitive conference schedule. The best football team in Atlanta will start having a record that reflects its status.

Prediction: Georgia State 30 Charlotte 14
