Georgia Football Weekend 2020 – Week 8
We have a full slate of games this week as the season is chugging along. Covid still having a big impact as Wisconsin is not playing Nebraska this week due to positive test and potential #1 pick Trevor Lawrence is out after a positive test. Georgia Southern got a good bounce back win after defeating South Alabama in Thursday night action. The Eagles can at least say their only losses this season has been to ranked teams.
Georgia State welcomes the Chanticleers from Coastal Carolina to Atlanta today. The Panthers are averaging a whopping 42 points per game, but they are also giving up 39 points a game. They almost figured out a way to blow the contest against Troy last week. The undefeated men from Myrtle Beach, SC handled Georgia Southern last week.
Prediction: Coastal Carolina 30 Georgia State 21

Georgia will be looking to bounce back from that rough Alabama game. No shame in losing to possibly the best team in the country outside of Clemson. The Dawgs looked good through the first few quarters but for the 3rd time in the Kirby Smart era he couldn’t close out against his mentor. Kentucky is decent but not very good and that offense can’t throw only averaging 124 yards a game.
Prediction: Georgia 37 Kentucky 14

Georgia Tech is still trying to put that beatings from Clemson and Boston College behind them. Unfortunately, it doesn’t get any better as they get #4 Notre Dame coming into Atlanta this weekend. Jeff Sims is still learning but if he turns the ball over this week it will all be over. Notre Dame defense is only giving up 9 points per game. The offense has a veteran signal caller in Ian Book and a very experienced offensive line. Now the Fighting Irish have not beaten any juggernauts this season, but they have looked impressive.
Prediction: Notre Dame 40 Georgia Tech 10
