Georgia Football Weekend 2020 – Week 6

This might be the biggest weekend this season for local teams. Georgia State got the weekend started with a tough loss to Arkansas State. They appeared to be playing basketball with the final score being 59-52. This week Georgia and Georgia Tech have big test that can reshape the rest of their seasons respectfully.

Georgia Tech vs #1 Clemson

Today Georgia Tech will host the mighty Tigers from Clemson. Could the Jackets pull off the biggest upset of the college season? Coach Collins is sure hoping so, but this is highly unlikely. Trevor Lawrence is looking the like the #1 pick in the draft and Trevor Etienne is running the ball as well as anyone in the country. The game will be a learning experience for the young Georgia Tech team.
Prediction: Clemson 42 Georgia Tech 14

Georgia Southern vs UMass

Georgia Southern will host the Minutemen from UMass today. This will be UMass’s first game of the season. Not much is expected from the team from Massachusetts. The Eagles are favored by 31 at home and with good reason. Their only loss was a squeaker to 19th ranked University of Louisiana. This game should be entertaining if you are an Eagles fan. Tune in early to see Shai Werts because he may be chilling after the 3rd quarter.
Prediction: Georgia Southern 44 UMass 7

#3 Georgia vs #2 Alabama

The biggest match-up of the college football season is upon us. This game will have not only SEC Championship implications but also a run at the National Championship is in play. Enter 2020 where the most dominant coach of the last 25 years has been diagnosed with Covid-19. Will he be on the sideline or not is the question? He has had 2 negative test and would need a third for that to be possible. These 2 teams are remarkably similar and have had some close shaves over the past few years with Alabama coming out on top. Can Georgia take advantage of that backend defense that allowed Ole Miss to rack up points against the Tide last week? Will the distraction of Saban being out of the mix for the past few days be enough to take Bama off their game? Not even sure if a negative test allows the coach to be on the sideline that it would be safe for him to do so. There is a lot going on here. Both teams have talented skill position players and new quarterbacks who are trying to prove themselves capable of winning it all.
Prediction: Georgia 27 Alabama 24
