Georgia Football Weekend 2020 – Week 2
Last week college football moved into high gear with the ACC starting their fall schedule. We have another week before the SEC gets into the mix and we now know that the Big Ten will be back in October. There are two big games scheduled to take place in Atlanta this weekend and we will break them down.
The Ragin Cajuns come into Atlanta the #19 team in the country after defeating Iowa State last week. The Panthers of Georgia State will see their first action of the 2020 season. The Panthers got a bit of good news, that Quarterback Mikele Colasurdo will be able to play as he was originally out for the season due to a Covid related heart condition. GSU will have its hands full with Sun Belt Western Division foe the University of Louisiana. The Ragin Cajuns are favored by 7.5 on the road with good reason. They finished 11-3 last season and have a good defense which held a decent Power 5 offense in check last week.

The Yellowjackets are riding high after going down to Tallahassee and beating Florida State. There were encouraged by the play of Fresham QB Jeff Sims. Coach Geoff Collins in his 2nd year still rebuilding the program and changing the system from the old wishbone culture of Paul Johnson. They will have their hands full with UCF who is currently ranked 13 in the nation. Now don’t get to caught up on rankings since the Big Ten and Pac12 teams are not included in top 25 as of right now.
Georgia Tech will have its hands full with a team that has high aspirations. After going 10-3 under Coach Josh Heupel they plan on trying to make a long shot run at the FBS playoff. Even with 10 players opting out due to Covid concerns, the Knights appear to have a good team led by returning QB Dillon Gabriel who threw for over 3500 yards last season on an offense that scored 43 points per game. This might be to much for the young Yellowjackets.
