Georgia Football Weekend 2020 – Week 13

College Football has been a wild ride for 2020. It is crazy that the season is still going with all the positive test and cancellations but here we are. There are still some games left to be played by our Georgia programs. Georgia State has finished their season after their win against Georgia Southern last week. The rest of the big boy programs around the state are still going playing mostly make up games for the next couple of weeks. UGA will not be on the field this week. They were slated to play Vanderbilt, but that game has been moved to 12/19.

Georgia Tech vs NC State

Georgia Tech heads to NC State to play this weekend. The Jackets come off a high scoring win against Duke and look to keep building on a season that has had its ups and downs. They are facing a 7-3 N.C State team that is on a 3-game win streak. All 3 Wolfpack losses came against ranked teams. The numbers are not totally out of Tech’s favor at a close glance at State’s numbers they are allowing 31 points a game and have only a .5-point differential. That being said the Wolfpack are at home and have been able to make it out against teams they are supposed to beat.
Prediction: NC State 30 Georgia Tech 21

Georgia Southern vs Florida Atlantic

Georgia Southern has had a rough go of as of late, losing back to back games to Army and Georgia State. This week it does not get any better as they take on the 5-1 Owl from Florida Atlantic. FAU has won 4 straight and their defense is only allowing 11 points per game. At least Southern is at home but in the time of Covid it is not the same advantage it used to be. This will be a strength against strength game. The Eagles are rushing for 267 yards a game while FAU is only allowing 105 yards on the ground per contest. Let’s see who wins this battle of wills.
Prediction: FAU 24 Georgia Southern 17
