Georgia Football Weekend 2019 – Week 4
We have made it to week 4 in the college football season and we still don’t know much about the teams across the country. The University of Georgia will find out a lot this week, as they take on Notre Dame in the only top 10 match up of the week. Georgia Tech gets a weekend off to regroup after a disappointing loss to the Citadel.
The Dawgs welcome the 7th ranked Fighting Irish to Athens,GA this weekend. This game is huge for both teams as there are playoff implications on both sides. Neither team really wants to loss and even in defeat the loss cannot be too lopsided. This is a little more important for Notre Dame because Georgia can win in the competitive SEC and still have a strong shot at the playoff.
Two years ago, the Bulldogs squeaked out a narrow in South Bend, in what was Jake Fromm’s first ever career start. Now in his third year under center for national championship contender a lot more will be expected of Fromm. That being said most of the offensive heavy lifting will done by the dynamic Georgia run game lead by D’Andre Swift.
The Irish will lean heavy on their dynamic quarterback Ian Book and hope he can make plays against the athletic Georgia defense. The Bulldogs are favored by 14.5 points. Not sure what to make of Notre Dame as they are usually ranked high until proven otherwise. A win here would go a long way towards their credibility. That being said Georgia probably won’t lose unless they are an active participant in their own demise. Senseless penalties and turnovers would have to play a part.
Prediction:Georgia 34 Notre Dame 17
