Georgia Football Weekend 2017 – Rivalry Week

Here we are at Thanksgiving weekend. The families have gotten together, and the shopping has begun. This weekend is also the last weekend of the college football regular season and that means its Rivalry Week. Just in time to for you spend time with that relative that you don’t like whom also went to that school you can’t stand. Will you get a to rub a win in his face or have to hear his insufferable yapping after your school gets its doors blown off.

Georgia Tech vs Georgia

The two teams we usually preview will face off this weekend in Clean Old-Fashioned Hate as Georgia Tech host the 7th ranked Bulldogs of UGA. This rivalry has been pretty good with it being 2-2 in the last 4 meetings. All of those games have been decided by a touchdown or less. The Dawgs still have their eyes on trying to make it to the playoffs. Georgia Tech has had a disappointing year and will need a win to be bowl eligible. The Jackets would also love nothing more than to spoil the season for the school from Athens.

Kirby Smart gets his 2nd shot at Paul Johnson’s triple option. His defense is a lot better this season and hasn’t had too many problems shutting down opponents. The way to beat Georgia is the have a dynamic quarterback who can make plays in the passing game. Unfortunately, that is not Georgia Tech’s strength. The hope for Tech would be that the triple option can control the clock and play good defense.

The major problem for Tech is they are playing a more disciplined defense that is much better then they were last year. Also, the offense they are facing is a dominant run first group that doesn’t really on deception and more on pure dominance. The combo of Michel and Chubb have been a load all season and probably will be too much for Tech. The Jackets are +11.5 underdogs are home. Probably won’t be that close.
Prediction: Georgia 34 Tech 14
Watch On: ABC 12pm
