Georgia Football Weekend 11/12/16

College Football Rival

The college football season is rounding down and teams are either trying to figure out what bowl they can get into while the teams at the top are angling for the playoffs. Georgia and Georgia Tech are both sitting at 5-4 and trying to first get eligible and work their way up the good old bowl ladder. Each team will be facing stiff challenges as they try to bring a shine to the end of their respective seasons.

Georgia Tech vs Virginia Tech

GTvsVT

Today the Yellow Jackets head up to Blacksburg to take on the Hokies of Virginia Tech. This game is huge for Virginia Tech who with a win can clinch the ACC Coastal division. These 2 teams have decided 9 of the last 11 ACC Coastal representatives in the conference title game. Virginia Tech comes into the game with a high powered offense that is led by Juco transfer quarterback Jerod Evans who is also the team’s leading rusher.

VatechvsGatech

Both teams come into this game banged up. Georgia Tech has the most devastating losses of the 2 teams as they are starting 3 true freshmen on the offensive line with veteran starting quarterback also being out for this game. The Jackets will have to depend of Sophomore Matthew Jordan who less than 15 total career pass attempts. This may not be the week for Georgia Tech to look for their magical 6th win.

Georgia vs Auburn

UGAvsAUB

The Deep South’s oldest football rivalry kicks off in Athens today. The Bulldogs are coming of a close call win against Kentucky. After a slow start to their season, Auburn has rattled off 5 straight wins and is in the top ten and controls their destiny in the SEC Championship race. With a lot at stake for both teams this should be a hard fought game.

The Tigers will be shorthanded today as leading rusher Kamryn Pettway will not be available for today’s tilt with the Dawgs. The high powered Auburn offense is putting up 34 points per game and has the country’s 3rd leading rushing attack with 298 yards per game. Georgia will be looking to lean on their running attack that amassed over 200 yards last week. With the duo of backs Nick Chubb and Sony Michel powering the run attack, quarterback Jacob Eason will need to still make some plays with his arm if Bulldogs want to keep pace.
Prediction: Auburn: 27 Georgia: 20
