The Georgia Football Weekend 3 – Man Down
This weekend sets up for another fabulous weekend in football in the state of Georgia. All of the big boys are in action. Overall last week was good for fans of the local teams with the exception of the Falcons. This week provides some more big match-ups that could impact your favorite team’s season.
Georgia Tech vs Duke
The Yellowjackets move on from a team they struggled against over the past few years to a team they have routinely beat during that same time span. Tech was able to over their 5 year drought against Miami last week and now will host the Duke Blue Devils at Bobby Dodd Stadium. Duke is not the push over it has been and last year appeared in the ACC title game. Just like the Ramblin Wreck they can score a lot of points. That being said don’t see Duke shutting down that triple option this week in Atlanta.
Prediction: GA Tech 37 Duke 28
Georgia Southern vs Idaho
The Eagles will defend Paulson Stadium against the Idaho Vandals this weekend. Not too much to talk about here. Georgia Southern is well on their way to winning the Sun Belt their first year in the conference. They are 5 points from being undefeated on the season. The Vandals come in boasting a 0-5 record. The Eagles will make Idaho 0-6 down in Statesboro.
Prediction: GASO 40 Idaho 14
Georgia vs Missouri
The Bulldogs are headed to Columbia, MO to take on the Missouri Tigers. This is a big game on the Eastside of the SEC. The game could go a long way towards who is going to Atlanta to play for the title. Effectively if Georgia loses they are completely out of it as it will be their 2nd loss to an opponent in their division. The monster story of this game is that the Bulldogs will head into the game without Heisman Trophy candidate Todd Gurley who is serving an indefinite suspension. With a defense that is struggling and an unproven quarterback on the road doesn’t look good for the Bulldogs. The Georgia rushing attack rest on the shoulders of freshman running back Nick Chubb, who has seen work in spot duty but never, has carried the full load. Sophomore Keith Marshall is still out with an injury so Georgia will be very thin in the backfield.
Prediction: Mizz 34 UGA 17
