Georgia Football Weekend Preview 9/26/15
This weekend in college football around the state all the big boys are busy again. This week the match-ups are not as heavy as they were last week for the major conference teams but there is a stiff test out there for one of the local teams. I was 2-1 in my picks last week but I think I got a better handle on this week.
Georgia vs Southern University
This week the Dawgs have a tune up game against the Jaguars of Southern University. After big blowout of South Carolina last week UGA is taking a week off from the SEC grind and will get to work out a good portion of their roster in this game. Southern brings their 2-1 record to Athens and will likely leave with a blowout loss and big paycheck for their troubles.
Prediction: Georgia: 65 Southern: 6
Georgia Tech vs Duke
With both teams coming off their 1st losses of the season, Duke and Georgia Tech both will be looking to strike back this week. Last year the Yellow Jackets dropped this game to the Blue Devils. David Cutcliffe has proven to be incredible quartback coach going back to his days with the Manning Brothers. This is not your father’s Duke Football team and they expect to win and go to ball games. Last week Tech’s offense struggled to get anything going against Notre Dame until late in the game. Now that the competition has stepped up we see that losing all of those running backs last year have affected Paul Johnson’s team. This probably won’t be a defensive struggle and that is an advantage to the Blue Devils.
Prediction: Duke 37 GT 24
