Georgia Football Weekend 2022 – Week 2
College Football is in full swing, Friday Night Lights is popping at high schools across the county and the NFL is officially back. Long story short, we are in full fall football mode and have another full slate of games this. Last week the KLS team went 3-1 on predictions. We have another week of fun games this week so let’s take a look at what we got.
The best college football team in Atlanta welcomes the UNC Tarheels to Center Parc Stadium. Usually UNC would host a SunBelt Conference team but for the second week in a row Mac Brown’s team will be traveling. The TarHeels are favored in the game by a touchdown but this maybe a little premature. Last week the Panthers looked strong against South Carolina and the 35-14 score is misleading. Georgia State was up 14-12 in the 3rd quarter. The game was only 20-14 in South Carolina’s favor until 2 blocked punts turned into touchdowns for the Gamecocks. North Carolina has scored a lot of points in their first 2 game but also have given up a lot. They escaped a by the skin of their teeth last week at App State winning 63-61 and no this wasn’t the basketball teams. This week hopefully UNC won’t be so lucky.
Prediction: Georgia State 34 UNC 28

Not a lot to say about this game. If your son is not a starter or regular rotational player you better be at this one because the young man will definitely see some time against Samford. Now if anyone including myself wondered how that defense would reload after losing so many players to the NFL, the question has been answered. The Bulldogs have reloaded and Kirby Smart apparently has that Bama type machine of 5 stars rolling. They looked very dominant against an Oregon team that people had high hopes for. This will a good showing for the fans between the hedges.
Prediction: Georgia 48 Samford 0

Georgia Tech welcomes FCS Western Carolina down on the flats this evening. Tech wasn’t as bad as the score showed againest Clemson last week but still got thumped. With a huge step down in competition expect Tech to have a win and a happy home crowd.
Prediction: Georgia Tech 30 Western Carolina 10

The Georgia Southern Eagles head to Nebraska to take on Scott Frost’s Cornhuskers. The Eagles looked solid against Morgan State last week but there will be a step in competition this weekend. Nebraska is a program trying to still find itself and wondering outloud is alum Scott Frost is the right man for this rebuild. That being said, Georgia Southern is not the program it was 5 or 6 years ago either and really don’t pose a danger of an upset today as Clay Helton still has major rebuild job on his hands.
Prediction: Nebraska 35 Georgia Southern 10
