Georgia Football Weekend 2017 – Week 10
The first playoff rankings are out, and the Georgia Bulldogs sit at the top of the pile in the initial seating. If they handle their business for the rest of season it be a special time in Athens. The Yellow Jackets are still mathematically alive in the ACC Coastal race and Miami has two tough games ahead of them. It isn’t all good everywhere as Georgia Southern still has not won a game and had to fire their coach. There is a lot of football left and this weekend should be interesting.
Paul Johnson will take the Yellow Jackets up to Charlottesville, VA to take on the Cavaliers of Virginia. Both teams have 2 losses in the ACC and are still technically alive in the Coastal Division race. A win would definitely help either team’s cause and at least help with the possible bowl positioning at the end of the season. Both of these teams are looking to bounce back after losses last week. Paul Johnson has traditionally done well against Virginia and the triple option should give the Cavalier defense fits. The game is due to be a lot closer than the 9.5 spread but the Jackets should put up a victory in the win column.
Prediction: Georgia Tech 27 Virginia 17

The Bulldogs are flying high after rolling over Florida last weekend. Now it’s on to the Gamecocks of South Carolina. Will Muschamp will bring his team to Athens and try to take down the 8-0 Bulldogs. A win Saturday would almost completely lock up the SEC East for Georgia. The 6-2 Gamecocks are riding high on 3 straight wins and look to try for the upset of their neighboring rivals. Will Georgia be hung over from a big rivalry win and larger national profile? Because the Dawgs depend on the running the ball and strong defense they should be fine. South Carolina doesn’t have the passing game to challenge Georgia’s defense like Missouri did. Muschamp will try to cook up something on defense but there is not much you can do when you are getting overpowered.
Prediction: Georgia 34 South Carolina 10
