Falcons High Step Past The Bucs
The Atlanta Falcons destroyed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday Night football. The 56-14 beating handed down by the Dirty Birds is the most lopsided that started with 56 unanswered points in the first 3 quarters of the game. With Devin Hester breaking Deion Sanders record for most return touchdowns with his 20th on Thursday night.
The Bucs were without running back Doug Martin and Pro Bowl defensive lineman Gerald McCoy. The shorthanded team was plagued by early turnovers that allowed the quick scores by Atlanta. The Falcons rolled to a 35-0 halftime advantage and never looked back. The team was paced by Matt Ryan’s 3 touchdown passes and a dominant performance by Julio Jones who caught 2 of those scores.
Tampa Bay was never close in this game and only scored their 14 points in garbage time. This is one of the most convincing wins Atlanta has had in the last few years. Also unlike the most recent 2 seasons the team never let Tampa back in the game after amassing a big lead. The Falcons are now 2-1 and tied for 1st place in the NFC South. Both of their wins are against division opponents which could go a long way at the end of the season.
