This Week in Georgia Football

Georgia Tech Football

This weekend there is a lot football going on here in Georgia. So we feel it’s important that every week on Kind of Like Sports we give a little preview of the action. Here is a preview of your favorite college teams in the state and of course the Atlanta Falcons. With the exception of the Georgia Tech YellowJackets who are off this week.

University of Georgia vs Tennessee Volunteers

UGA vs Tenn

The No. 12 Georgia Bulldogs will host Tennessee Volunteers today. This is a big step for the Bulldogs getting back in the SEC title race. Tennessee is looking to avenge a close loss at home last season to their heated rivals. They are also trying to show their program is rebounding and can make some waves in the SEC East. The Bulldogs will need to capitalize on the home crowd and their dynamic running game. Healthy doses of Heisman candidate Todd Gurley will be the key to the Dogs holding down home field.
Prediction: Georgia 27 Tennessee 17

Atlanta Falcons vs Minnesota Vikings

Falcons vs Vikings

The Falcons travel to Minnesota to take on the Vikings on Sunday. Atlanta is considered the odds on favorite but there is a potential for a trap here. Coming off a major blowout win against the Bucs on Thursday the team has had a long layoff and may be a little rusty. Also the Falcons have not won an outdoor road game since 2012 against Tampa Bay. The Vikings will be led by rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater who will be making his first NFL start. New Head Coach Mike Zimmer has the Minnesota defense playing well and is the architect of the scheme in Cincinnati that has given the Falcons trouble.

The Vikings will be without suspended running Adrian Peterson. The Falcons appear to have their full complement of players. The question is can the Vikings slow down the Falcons dynamic offense and can they limit the turnovers of their rookie signal caller. Will Falcons keep experimenting with their dangerous 4 wide receiver sets?
Prediction: Falcons 24 Vikings 14
