Georgia Football Weekend 11/19/16

GTvsOleMiss

Coming off the upset weekend of last week the big boy programs in the state are both going bowling. Both teams followed the national trend and pulled off big wins against ranked opponents and may have cooled off some of the critiques of their head coaches. This week is a little light as both schools have their final tune up before they face each other.

Georgia Tech vs Virginia

GTvsUVA

For the 2nd straight week the Jackets will take on an opponent for the Commonwealth of Virginia. This time Tech doesn’t have to travel as the Cavaliers come to Bobby Dodd Stadium. With a win today Georgia Tech could greatly improve their bowl status and play in something that isn’t around Thanksgiving. They come into today’s game favored by more than 10 points.

Usually this is where I try to sell a little bit about the other team but not much to do with the 2-8 Cavaliers. The team has a -8 point differential per game and has one of the worst rushing offenses in the nation. Quarterback Justin Thomas did not play last week and will be out this afternoon but shouldn’t make difference.
Prediction: Georgia Tech 30 Virginia 20

Georgia vs University of Louisiana Lafayette

UGA Oline

One week before the Dawgs welcome Tech between the hedges they get a tune-up against those Raging Cajuns from Louisiana Lafayette. Georgia is riding a 2 game win streak after pulling the upset last week against Auburn. The Dawgs look to work out the kinks in their offense and push their win total to 7.

The Bulldogs already had a scare against Nicholls State this season don’t expect a letdown today. There will be lots of Nick Chubb early and hopefully Jacob Eason can build some confidence this game.
